noodletownIt is not often that you are eating dumplings in Chinatown at 3 a.m. on a Friday morning and learn that Kosta Koufos has been traded, but that true story only just added to the bizzarro nature of the 2013 Draft — the craziest draft night I have ever witnessed in more than 20 years of covering them.

When was the last time David Stern got a standing ovation? (Ever?)

When was the last time two Future Hall of Famers got traded to the team hosting the draft, yet the host team could not speak publicly about it? (That would be a never).

When was the last time the NBA executives and attorneys in the draft room learned who was being picked next not from the team making the pick, but from a reporter (props to Woj) who tweeted nearly every pick several minutes before they were announced? (That would be a never, too, and I expect a fine structure to be developed for any team that leaks its pick prior to the official announcement. The NBA was really pissed about Woj scooping the folks manning the draft hotline phones.)

At one point during the night, someone tweeted at Woj: “When and How will I die?

There were 16 trades made, the two biggest of which (Boston-Brooklyn and Philadelphia-New Orleans) will not become official until July 10.

Here is a rundown of all of them:
